SINCE the suspension of the former Malaita Provincial Secretary (PS) Fredrick Fa’abasua, the Malaita Provincial Government has maintained the view that the action by the National Government regarding the matter was baseless.
The outspoken Malaita Premier, Daniel Suidani recently accused the National Government for wrongly dealing with the former Malaita PS.
He said there are elements of political interference in the way the government dealt with Mr Fa’abasua’s case.
Premier Suidani said the former Malaita PS was the best PS to have ever served the province, adding that his suspension was not in the best interest of Malaita Province.
The Malaita Provincial Government has taken the case of the former PS to the attention of the National Government in the Malaita Peoples’ Log of Claims.
As appeared in the Malaita Peoples’ Log of Claims point number 11, “….MPG called on the National Government to acknowledge that the suspension of the former MPG Provincial Secretary was wrongfully done and that this was a case of the law, having been wrongfully and inappropriately applied.”
“MPG believes that the manner in which Mr Fa’abasua was treated was unfair and that there could be elements of political interference in the case against him.”
“It is our understanding that all the allegations that were laid against him have been dropped since they hold no grounds whatsoever.”
“Fredrick was our best performing Provincial Secretary who provided the province with the necessary and sound financial managerial and leadership ability that saw MPG perform exceptionally well within the family of provinces in comparison to previous Malaita Provincial governments.”
Recently, the former Malaita Provincial Secretary exposed how the Ministry of Public Service (MPS) and Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening (MPGIS) dealt with his suspension case.
The former Provincial Secretary also revealed the network behind the scene to bring him down from performing his duty for the Malaita Provincial Government and the people of Malaita.
The network involved the Attorney General, Ministry Public Service Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening Permanent Secretary and the suspended Malaita Provincial Treasurer.
Mr Fa’abasua badly victimised in this case is because he was denied from delivering his service to Malaita Province for over a year during his suspension until his three-year contract lapsed in May this year.
