MALAITA Province premier has thanked Malaita Province Members of Parliament who support their people in light of a COVID-19 community transmission in the province.
Speaking to Solomon Star today (Saturday 29th January) Premier Daniel Suidani said some Malaita MPs came out to distribute facemasks and other COVID-19 safety supplies to their constituents.
Mr Suidani said COVID-19 has caught many people by surprise and many people could not afford to purchase basic COVID-19 protective supplies like facemasks, soap or sanitizers.
However, he said those MPs stepped in and help their constituents by doing a very honourable thing during this trying time.
The premier then called on other MPs who are still to assist their constituents during this pandemic to follow the example of other MPs and help.
“If it is any time in life that constituencies in Malaita need support from their parliament representatives, this is the time,” Mr Suidani said.
