ISSUES relating to economic development in the provincial level should be the top of the highlight in this week’s 8thPremiers’ conference in Honiara.
Deputy Prime Minister Douglas Ete stressed this yesterday morning while opening the annual event at Doma, northwest Guadalcanal.
“During this week-long summit, I want you Premiers to effectively discuss development issues happening in your provinces,” Mr Ete added.
Mr Ete was the guest of honor to open the conference.
“You have a wonderful week of discussion to come up with good ideas to engage yourcommunitiesin the economic development in your provinces,” he said.
He said, its important to use this week to bring changes to the communities, provinces and the nation as a whole.
“Discuss development issues in your provinces and come up ideas to build this nation,” Mr. Ete said.
He said the government acknowledged the work they have done in their provinces.
He conveyed the government’s well wish during this week’s event.
