Preparation for the 8th Premier’s Conference is now gaining momentum as the local organising committee (LOC) and Central Coordinating committee are starting to plan and put things into action towards the event.
The 8th Premier’s conference is scheduled to be held on 1st of October and will be co-hosted by the Guadalcanal Province and the Honiara City Council (HCC).
The conference will be held at various venues to be decided by the two local Governments.
The Central Coordinating Committee (CCC) and the local organising committee (LOC) have recently visited a proposed site for the opening of the Premiers conference at Ginger Beach, northwest Guadalcanal.
This was purposely to check on the preparations at the venue and to get first hand information on its progress.
A statement from the committee explained that after the initial visit, there will be more work carried out on the stages before the actual event.
However there will be more frequent visits to monitor all the progress at the identified sites.
Currently the committees are concentrating on formulating the program and assessing the potential key areas that needs to be addressed.
Meanwhile the organising committee said, they will set up an office at the HCC headquarters for its operations towards the event.
All the progress and updates will be made public after the office is well established.
The previous Premiers conference was hosted by the Western Province.
