Parliament resumes meeting on Thursday after it was adjourned yesterday morning due to mistakes and printing errors in the copies of the 2018 Appropriation Bill 2018, which were distributed to Members of parliament (MPs).
Parliament resolved into the committee of the whole house yesterday to look into the budget clause by clause, but could not proceed, since MPs were given copies with different figures and missing pages.
An error believed to come from those printing the copies of the 2018 Appropriation Bill 2018.
They have realised the errors when MP for Aoke-Langalanga asked the Prime Minister (PM) Mr. Rick Houenipwela to clarify some allocation in the budget, which the PM did not see in the pages on his copy.
Some other MPs in the house also were confused since they could not see the page which Mr. Wale was referring to when he asked his question.
Thus, Mr. Wale call for suspension of the committee of supply, in order to sort out the mismatch in the figures contain in the copies, before parliament could resume.
More than 30 minutes after the suspension, meeting resumed but only for PM to adjourn parliament to today (Thursday), because they could not sort out the printing errors yesterday.
PM said the adjournment is to allow members to have right version of the copy of the budget before committee of supply could resume.
