Police are continuing to appeal to anyone who has information in relation to the death of a man at the Fielders Delite Flour mill in East Honiara.
Supervising Police Commissioner, Juanita Matanga on Wednesday told journalists that investigation into this factory death is progressing well.
“We appeal to those who have any information to come forward,” Ms Juanita said when making the call.
Ms Juanita confirmed the deceased was an employee of the factory, adding, they are continuing to carry out investigation.
“I acknowledged and thanked the deceased’s family for their understanding, on which, they continue to allow police to carry out investigation without any hindrance.
“We must maintain the understanding so that the outcome of the investigation can prevail from there,” Ms Matanga said.
The deceased was allegedly crushed to death while cleaning a flour mixture machine at the factory on Monday morning.
Earlier report stated the deceased in his 40’s from Malaita and three other boys were assigned to clean up the newly installed mixture machine.
The report stated that while the deceased was cleaning the machine from the top, someone turned on the switch at the bottom of the machine.
As a result of that, the machine pulled the deceased, squeezed and smashed his body.
