The ministry of infrastructure and development (MID) will hold a consultation meeting with four (4) communities on Simbo Island in Western province to discuss the possibility of funding Lengana wharf on Simbo Island, Western province.
A team from the ministry will visit the island starting today to hold consultation and inspect the shoreline where the current Lengana wharf is likely to be located.
Communities surrounding Simbo have been urged to assist MID team who will be visiting the communities for consultations and meetings.
A concern man from SIMBO who spoke to the Solomon Star yesterday thanked MID for seeing the need of Simbo people by re-building the wharf.
He said its one of the needs of the people on the island when unloading and loading from boats and outboard motors.
