MALAITA provincial government has thanked the Australian High Commission office in collaboration with Rotary club in Honiara for the timely donations received in Auki, Malaita on Wednesday.
The donations will assist in the area of education, health and humanitarians.
Speaking during the handing over at Auki wharf, Hon. Martin Fini in the absence of premier Edwin Suibaea and his deputy Alick Maeaba said that the donations are timely and would boost areas of education and health.
“This would be a blessing to the various sectors that will benefit from these donations,” Mr Fini said.
“On this note, I on behalf of the province must thank the donors for items and equipment,” he said.
He said the province was grateful for such a kind gesture.
“These donations will really help the province and we are looking forward in working together with donors to acquire more help this province,” Mr Fini said.
“Thank you Australia High commissioner and Rotary club of Honiara help,” he said.
The Australian Navy vessel Labuan returned to Honiara after unloading the donated goods and will make its way back to Australia.
