The Government through the Ministry of Public Service has advised all public servants with the exception of essential services Ministries, to stay home due to the current unrest in Honiara City.
Essential services workers included health workers, police and others such as customs, immigration and aviation.
A statement from Government Communication Unit said the government encouraged public servants to ensure enough food supplies at home due to the uncertainty of the current situation.
The government further advised public servants to stay away from involvement in unlawful activities connected to the current unrest.
Public servants in the provinces will continue to attend to work.
Public servants will be recalled when the situation is safe.
