MEMBERS of the general public are being warned to carefully inspect goods that will be on crazy sale in the coming days as the festive season is closing in.
The Solomon Star was informed by a concerned Honiara citizen Samson Kakadi that, it is this time of the year that most shops will want to get rid of the expired goods in the shops within the capital.
“I have noticed in the past that, most goods that were usually sold on crazy sale prices have already expired or is about to be expired before the year ends.
“This is becoming a normal practice in Honiara and so, I urge the members of the public to be cautious when choosing which types of goods are safe to buy, use, or consume,” Mr Kakadi said.
He also called on the locals who are employed as shop assistants to also consider selling valid and unexpired goods to the people of the country.
“I want to call on all local shop assistants to do a thorough routine check on the goods in their shops before putting it out on display or for crazy sale purposes.
“Please, be mindful that expired goods are not safe for human consumption. Inform the rightful authorities before anyone gets hurt, whenever such issue comes up,” the concerned Malaita man told the Solomon Star yesterday.
