SOLOMON Islands Brazilian-based Elliot Ragomo is turning few heads during his trial with professional futsal outfit Minas Clube as he is on the brink of signing a professional contract.
Ragomo’s impressive performance with the club’s youth team in a friendly against the Brazil National Under 17 futsal side provided a platform for him to sign.
Home based club Marist reported that the Brazilian club is currently looking at Ragomo’s International Transfer Certificate.
“Minas Tenis clube is currently looking at Ragomo’s ITC at the moment and probably the only reason for looking at his ITC is the possibility of playing him in the senior squad in the LNF Brazilian national professional futsal league.
“On top of that, there are no foreigners playing in the LNF and our very own Elliott Ragomo will be the first.
“The round 1 of LNF is closing in the next 2 months, and round 2 will start soon after and Minas Clube is looking at including Ragomo in round 2,” the club reported on their official website yesterday.
Marist reported that Ragomo has been directly trained under the best futsal coaches in Brazil.
“He has been trained by the best. Ragomo has recently featured in two games for Minas U-20 squad vs the Brazil National U-17 squad and won 6-3 and 5-2.
“Ragomo scored a goal in both games,” Marist media reports stated.
Speaking to Star Sports, the national futsal team captain said he is settling in well with the Belo Horizonte franchise.
“The environment here is different compared to what we get used to back home.
“I am grateful for the support rendered to me by the Minas futsal family.
“Working with world class players under the Brazilian national team coach who also coach us at Minas is something special,” he said.
The inspirational Kurukuru captain is in-line to become the first full-time professional Solomon Islanders awaiting a deal to be strike.
