CARETAKER Minister for National Planning and Development Coordination, Rexon Annex Ramofafia has been re-elected as Member of Parliament for Fataleka.
Ramofafia, who was first elected into Parliament in the 2019 National General Election, retained the Fataleka Constituency Seat in landslide victory of 4,869 votes.
His runner-up Moffat Ramofafia polled 1, 772 votes.
Three other candidates who contested the seat included former MP for the constituency, Steve Abana who polled 735 votes. Candidates Robert Iamaea and John Itea polled 22 and 21 votes respectively.
The total number of registered voters in Fataleka Constituency is 8,769. A total of 7,431 votes were casted and of these votes, 12 were rejected.
Prior to becoming a Parliamentarian, Ramofafia served as a Policy Analyst in the Ministry of Finance and Treasury.
Ramofafia re-contested the Fataleka Seat under the banner of the Ownership, Unity and Responsibility Party.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and Commissioner Jasper Highwood Anisi reiterated the declaration of Ramofafia’s victory by the Returning Officer made earlier.
