THE Malaita Provincial Premier, Peter Chanel Ramohia says he wants the climate change issue to be discussed in the premiers’ conference this week.
He said, it was important that other speakers must have something to say about the issue as some of the provinces in the country were currently affected by this global issue.
“I want all of us to have a say to address this as some of our people living on the Islands have lost some parts of their lovely Islands already,” he added.
He said that for Malaita, Malaita outer Islands had been affected by the issue.
“Maybe some us are yet to feel this but it’s good we can discuss it now while it is yet to disaster every one of us in the country,” Mr Ramohia said.
“For worst, this El nino season will be the worst if we don’t prepare for it. So this is one of the issues that need to be discussed for the rural people in the province.”
He called on other premiers to discuss the issue in the remaining days this week.
On Wednesday, some of the premiers have presented their discussions during the conferences including Premier Ramohia who made the plead.
More premiers will present their discussions today before they can sign the communique on Friday.
