THE case of a man accused of raping his sister in-law last year at a village in Central Island Province has been committed to the High Court for trial.
This was after a committal hearing was conducted on the case, Wednesday.
Principal Magistrate Augustine Aulanga having found sufficient evidence on the case against the accused in his 30’s committed the matter for trial in the High Court.
The accused, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, is facing a charge of rape in relation to an incident last year at a village in Central Islands Province.
Prosecution alleged he raped his sister in-law who was at that time of the alleged offending around 13 years of age.
Public Solicitor’s lawyer Clifton Ruele is representing the accused whilst Public Prosecutor Ishmael Kekou is prosecuting.
