A rape trial in relation to the case against married man accused of raping a student at Gizo in 2010 is scheduled to start next week in Gizo, Western province.
The five days hearing was listed before Justice Stephen Pallaras on Monday next week during a high court circuit.
Dick Alu who is now 41 years of age from Vella La Vella was accused of raping a form six student at Gizo on the night of June 30 and July 1, 2010.
The alleged victim was 19 years of age.
The alleged rape incidents occurred during the school weekend when the girl was returning from a boat ride to her home village.
Prosecution alleged that the girl boarded the boat from Gizo intending to go to her home village.
However, it was alleged that the alleged victim did not drop off at her village but followed the boat back to Gizo.
She and the driver were the only ones in the boat on the return trip.
The driver allegedly raped the victim in the boat while they were on their way and then raped her again at a market stall at Malakerava, Gizo.
It was alleged the driver dropped the alleged victim off at the Malakerava market stall and told her to wait for him while he went in search for a room at a motel.
It was on his way back from the motel search that he allegedly raped the alleged victim inside the market stall.
