A Rav4 vehicle was pushed down the steep banks of Lungga River on Tuesday and disappeared into the flooded water, much to the amazement of the public.
The incident occurred at around 11am.
The vehicle owner was understood to be under the influence of alcohol at that time.
Eye-witnesses told the Solomon Star, the man came and parked his vehicle at the edge of the river bank on the western side of the Lungga bridge.
After gazing at the river below, he pushed the vehicle over the edge of the river bank, which was about 12 metres high, sending the unit into the flooded waters below.
The Solomon Star was told by those familiar with the incident that the man had been having an argument with his spouse since last weekend over the Rav4.
Many people watched in disbelief as the vehicle was ditched into the river and disappeared under the brown, flowing water.
No one was inside the vehicle.
