Dear Editor – This is a follow up letter to my earlier communication regarding reading and literacy.
Strike while the iron is hot is a motto used in some parts of the world community, that opportunity exists now with respect to Ms Boykin’s and Ms Talasasa’s tour of Read Pacific, Ltd in New Zealand.
As noted in a previous letter to the editor, they are on a mission to develop a price list of books to be purchased for schools and libraries by prospective Solomon Islands sponsors, be they politicians, business owners, or individuals in the general public.
Given the fact that they are there reviewing books and preparing a price list, in other words, they are the professionals, they know what they want and here is the list; wouldn’t it be timely if sponsors could email Read Pacific, Ltd.
In New Zealand and have Joyce’s up-to-date price list forwarded to the committed sponsor to buy books and pay for shipping within its budget, before our educators return to Honiara.
A somewhat less known motto is Knowledge, volition and action – understanding the urgency of the need, have the willpower to move on the matter, take the appropriate action to make it happen.
Become a supporter of the knowledge warriors in New Zealand.
Read Pacific Ltd. email address: [email protected]. Your reward for participating in this most meaningful project is beyond your wildest imagination but it is a little like “…teach a man to fish …….”
