THE Solomon Islands Red Cross (SIRC) Malaita branch has delivered essential Non-Food Items (NFIs) to a family in Auki that lost their home to a devastating fire in July this year.
The family was left without possessions by the incident.
This aid is part of the charitable organization’s ongoing commitment to support those affected by natural disasters throughout the country.
The assistance included tarpaulins, a shelter toolkit, hygiene and kitchen sets, collapsible water containers, buckets, blankets and mosquito nets.
For the family, this support was a relief amid the challenges of rebuilding their lives.
Upon receiving the much-needed aid, the mother of the family expressed deep gratitude towards the SI Red Cross Malaita Branch.
Ellen Batalofo described the assistance as a significant help for her and her eight children during this difficult time.
“I thank the Solomon Islands Red Cross for providing these important and much-needed items for my family,” Mrs Batalofo added.
