TWO members of the Solomon Islands delegation to the 12th Festival of Pacific Arts are reportedly stuck in Manila, Philippines after contracting red eye.
Reports reaching the paper over the weekend said, they are under medical observation before they can be allowed to continue their journey.
The paper understands that the first group of delegation traveled last Wednesday to Guam via Port Moresby and Manila.
A government official who is currently looking after the duo said over the weekend, he is still in Manila taking care of two SI Festpac delegates who were denied travel to Guam because they have contracted conjunctivitis (red eye).
“They are currently being treated in Manila for up to 7 days before clearance to travel again. It’ s a new experience but very costly for our delegation.”
The wait is beleived to be costing government in terms of consultation and treatment.
Meanwhile the festival has kicked off yesterday and will run for the next two weeks.
A chartered flight carrying the rest of the delegates left over the weekend.
