Dear Editor – This piece of news is more heartwarming than the one I previously commented on.
The fines imposed and still to be charged on those captains are more realistic than the previous SBD$800.
That fine of US$100 as previously reported on would be unreasonable, even to the ignorant person in our country.
Those captains need to be dealt with accordingly and if possible with maximum penalties of fine or imprisonment or both.
We need to get the value of our resources, which I believe, far exceeds any amount to be charged on them.
We need to send a clear message to them that serving themselves with our natural resources is not entertained here even to the little iota.
I hope our legal system sets a very clear precedence after this that we can lean on next time around.
I pray for wisdom and tact on our lawyers and judges as they deal with the many issues our country is facing at the moment.
May the almighty help you in your dealings on matters of justice.
