NEWLY-ELECTED Rennell and Bellona premier Collin Singamoana Tesu’atai has commended the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government’s for the recent official release of its policy statement.
Premier Tesu’atai said, the DCC policy statement is a key document, which will not only guide the functioning of the machinery of the government but also provide an important guide for the decisions.
Mr Tesu’atai said, the decisions which donor partners and private sector in Solomon Islands need to take within the next four years.
Mr Collin Singamoana Tesu’atai congratulated the DCC Government saying, this is given the fact that policy statement provide a clear sense of direction as to where the DCC Government intends to lead the country.
“This is also crucial not only for our donor partners, but crucial for provincial governments, their supporting institutions as well as the people of Solomon Island,” Mr Tesu’atai added.
“It’s policy statement has been structured to upload the principle of the good governance and be in conformity with international agreements that underpin international development agendas,” Tesu’atai said.
Mr Tesu’atai however warned of the practical challenges of the coordinating and ensuring that DCC policies can be made to work within current strategic plans of all the implementing government ministries.
He adds that the greatest challenge for the DCC Government is going to be the Government’s abilities and capacities to effectively coordinate government ministries.
Premier Tesu’atai said, the developments to effectively implement DDC policies by pooling and coordinating national recourse and donor assistance is not to meet the national political aspirations of the government but the actual need of the people who live mostly in the rural areas.
Meanwhile Premier Tesu’atai pledges to ensure that under his leadership his executive and the entire Renbel Provincial Government will play in supporting government efforts to implement its key policies in Rennell and Bellona Province.
