Dear Editor – It is heartbreaking to see images of a repeat of early 2000. I was in Honiara with my family at the time and witnessed the trauma the children and women went through during the hostilities between Guadalcanal and Malaita.
I praise God for the 30 years I had there, witnessing the early years of independence and being involved in the development of a beautiful nation.
I had the privilege of teaching over a thousand children during my time in the Hapi Isles.
It is a shame that children with such huge potential have to suffer because the, so-called adults can’t get their act together.
I thank God that the Solomon Island people are, generally people of faith and that they will continue to pray that God will have His way in this situation.
May all those who perpetrated this situation have a personal confrontation with the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings Jesus Christ. We are living in the last seconds of all time and our Sovereign Lord is coming soon.
He will come as your judge or your Saviour. To those who love our Jesus, keep loving Him and press on in Him.
There is a great reward awaiting those who hold on and endure to the end. All glory to God, and may He bless our Solomon Islands with His presence and His peace.
