Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast says police are making a progress in their investigations in relation to the increasing burglary incidents around Honiara.
During the weekly police conference yesterday, Mr Prendergast said they are still concern and will continue to carry out operations.
“I urged members of the public to report to the police any suspicious activities they may see and any information on the usual numbers 23666 or emergency number 999 and continue to maintain appropriate security awareness and secure residences and valuables.”
He said the hotspots for the burglaries are Panatina, Tasahe, Ngossi and Lengakiki.
He also said there is additional concern on the Guadalcanal Plains Palm Oil Limited area around Tetere.
He said investigations on reported cases have been proceeding well.
“So far three people have been arrested and remanded in custody.”
