The Honiara Central Market management says reselling of produce at the market is not allowed and against market ordinance.
Master Market Saxon Ofata revealed this on Tuesday following complaints raised by people claiming resellers have ripped them off with the reselling of produce.
A customer Dudley Seda said that many resellers in central market are ripping off people’s money by overcharging the products they sell.
“For example some of the resellers buy cabbage and rewrap them before selling them at a much higher price,” Mr Seda said.
In response Mr Ofata said that resellers are not allowed to sell in the market.
“Since the closure of the market I informed market vendors that reselling of produce are not encouraged and are ban here.”
The market master said, since the market opens his officers are monitoring the resellers.
