Residents of Kobito and Lau Valley area in east Honiara say they were grateful for the work done to upgrade their feeder road.
Work on the road had been going on for the past days, undertaken by Trade Transformation Company (TTC).
The project was funded by the government with support from donors.
A spokesman for the contractor said they’ve been doing road upgrades in east Honiara over the past week.
“This is our last road,” the spokesman said.
Residents said it’s always a good feeling when they see their road upgraded to good condition.
“Taxi drivers are always willing to come all the way into our settlements when the road conditions are fine,” one resident said.
“If the government could tar-seal the road, it would be better.”
