RESORTS located in and around Gizo, the Western Provincial capital came alive during Christmas as they welcomed a steady flow of overseas visitors to celebrate the festive season.
The influx of tourists added vibrancy to the celebrations, contributing to the town’s festive atmosphere and boosting the local economy.
Many visitors were drawn to Gizo’s serene beaches, luxurious accommodations and the unique blend of traditional and modern festivities.
The Fatboys, Imagination Islands and Kilupania resorts all saw a steady flow of visitors.
The same was reported by other local tourism operators in Munda, Rendova and Marovo lagoon.
Resorts reported high occupancy rates throughout the festive period, with guests enjoying a range of activities, including beachside activities, cultural feasts, and guided tours of the surrounding islands.
“It has been a joy to see so many visitors choosing Gizo as their holiday destination. The festive season is an important time for us, and we’re glad to share our culture and hospitality with the world,” a statement from Fat boys, a popular resort in Gizo said.

“The people are welcoming, the scenery is breathtaking and the celebrations are truly memorable,” they said.
Local businesses also thrived during the festive period.
Vendors at the Gizo market reported increased sales of fresh seafood, tropical fruits and crafts as visitors sought authentic Solomon Islands food and crafts.
