IT is back to the drawing board, as it were, and Reverend Eric Takila is taking up the challenge to reach out to today’s youth
Jesus is the answer, is his message to young people of Solomon Islands.
Rev Takila is leading a team of young people on a mission to villages in West Kwara’ae and Central Kwara’ae Constituencies next month.
This evening he is hosting a Coffee Night in the grounds of Central Church of the South Sea Evangelical Church in Honiara, starting at 7:30 to help raise funds for the mission.
The outreach which begins on 17th December to 3rd January 2022 takes in Buma, Kilusakwalo, Gwaidaedae, Auki, Ambu, Aisalinga, Radefasu, Gwaifai, Maoro, Arabala and Bina
“Young people have so much to offer this country. Unfortunately, their plight is not recognised and many are wandering aimlessly. Our mission to Malaita is to tell them, they have much to offer to help this country.
“We wish to encourage them that they have a place, a role to play in our society,” Rev Takila said.
The program for the Outreach consists of a variety of activities, including young people singing at night and youth leadership training and Bible teaching during the day.
“Social issues – the use of illicit drugs, marijuana and so on – seem to have a hold on many young people’s lives. They need to hear the Gospel of Jesus one more time.
“As everyone knows, we have tried everything and nothing has worked. Jesus is the answer and that is the central message of the mission to Central and West Kwara’ae youths,” he said.
Sports would also feature during the day.
“I know not all of us will go but you can support the mission by giving.
