With the 5th Melanesian festival of arts and culture kicking off this Saturday at Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG) the small Florida Island in Central Island Province will also be hosting its 3rd yacht festival starting this Friday.
The festival will be held at Roderick Bay Hideaway.
Premier of Central Island province and other government organisations representative will be there to officially launch the festival.
More than five yachts have been confirmed taking part at the festival.
The festival will run from 27th -30th of June.
Confirming the festival to the Solomon Star yesterday; Roderick Hideaway organising committee Chris Tinoni said preparation is underway on site.
“The festival will start on Friday and will end on Sunday.
“So far venues for the festival to stage activities have been completed ready for the event,” he said.
Meanwhile those who need transport and individual receiving invitation are asked to be at Yachts club on Thursday and Friday for pickup to the festival.
He urged government representatives that have received invitation to attend the festival to attend.
