The recently organized Rove Lengakiki Easter Seven-a-side soccer tournament has ended successfully on Monday.
Lengakiki Warriors won the competiton and received the top prize of $2,000, Mbumburu second with $1, 300, Rove Five third with $1000 and Pupu Hill on fourth place with $500.
The prizes were presented to the winners by selected four elders from Rove, Lengakiki and Mbumburu.
The aim of the Easter break tournament was to keep youths from involving in alcohol or drug related activities, to get involved in organized games and to interact with Police Officers and prison service Officers.
The plan now is to evaluate from this tournament for future games and plan the coming years’ competition with bigger prizes.
The tournament was jointly hosted by the Mbumburu councilor Eddie Ngava and Rove Lengakiki Councilor Eddie Siapu.
Acknowledgements were made towards the sponsors and organizers who worked together to make the tournament a success.
