Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Honiara attended a report of an alleged stabbing of a person in the Betikama area, East of Honiara on Thursday night.
Provincial Criminal Investigating Officer (PCIO) in Guadalcanal Province, Inspector Hughes Nevol says, “The suspect, a 20-year-old male person, surrendered himself to police.”
“The victim, who is also an adult male, is currently admitted at the Honiara National Referral Hospital (NRH) after he was transported to that hospital in the early hours of today (4 October),” says PCIO Nevol.
Inspector Nevol explains: “It is alleged the incident happened after an argument between the victim and suspect in which the victim was allegedly stabbed on the chest with a sharp object. This is a serious allegation, as the victim is still at the NRH. It is also alleged that both men were intoxicated when the incident happened.”
Police investigation into the matter is continuing, and public in the LDA area at Betikama in East of Honiara are encouraged to assist police with this investigation.
