Late Senior Sergeant Moses Reani was farewelled during a funeral service held on Saturday in Honiara.
Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) officers in Honiara farewelled their late colleague after he passed away at the National Referral Hospital last Wednesday 5 July following a short illness.
Speaking during the funeral service RSIPF Commissioner, Matthew Varley said: “As the Commissioner of Police I am humbled to stand here on behalf of all officers of the RSIPF to acknowledge the services of the late Senior Sergeant (SSgt) Moses Reani to the Force. He served his country and the RSIPF well for the past 25 years.”
Late SSgt Reani joined the RSIPF in 1992.
Commissioner Varley told the funeral service: “The community and the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force are grateful for the service that the late SSgt Reani had rendered during his years of service in the Force.”
“And to you, the family of late Moses, on behalf of a grateful nation, we thank you for his service,” said Commissioner Varley.
The body of the late SSgt Reani was repatriated to his home village on East Guadalcanal for burial.
