THE Malaita Provincial Government through its Town Council Department is progressing its crucial campaign for a green and healthy Auki setting by installing new rubbish wheelie bins along the streets of Auki this week.
The new setup is part of the Premier Asilaua-led government’s commitment to keep Auki clean in preparation for the Malaita Provincial Second Appointed Day on 15 August and beyond.
Malaita Province Town Council Field Supervisor Ben Laufa emphasized that the MPG under the leadership of Premier Asilaua is committed to maintain its effort to promote a green healthy setting in Auki and the province as a whole.
Mr Laufa said the provision of the new rubbish wheelie bins is not only to respond to waste management but to inform the public to be responsible for the cleanliness of Auki.
More than 30 rubbish wheelie bins were set up along streets of the Provincial Capital.
Mr Laufa urged the public to respect and take care of the properties by working together with the MPG to protect and keep Auki clean and beautiful.
He assured the public that the Auki Town Council maintains its collaboration with its stakeholders on the management of wastes.
It is understood that the rubbish wheelie bins project was funded by People’s Republic of China (PRC).
