The Solomon Islands national team for the upcoming rugby competition in Australia has been boosted with a timely support from Our Telekom yesterday with a cheque of $41,200.
The donation was to support the team for their new uniform. Executive president of SINRU Mr. Frank Wickham acknowledged the ongoing support Our Telekom rendered to rugby federation of Solomon Islands and encourage the boys to play hard for the country’s pride.
Mr. Wickham said their aim is to improve our rankings and also to aim for the 3 places available to non-core teams (apart from NZ, Aust, Fiji, Samoa) in the Hong Kong, Wellington and Gold coast 7s in 2015.
Solomon Islands is in pool B competing against Fiji, Cook Islands, and Tahiti.
A statement from Our Telekom said the company is supporting all sports in which rugby is one of and is happy to support the national team representing the country internationally. The competition will kick off next month in Australia.
