Two World Rugby certified trainers will be in the country this week to run a rugby 7s workshop for coaches, players, students and any interested individuals in Honiara.
They are Osea Umuumulovo and Eddie Waqa from Fiji rugby union and they will be co-delivering courses with the help of the SIRUF Coaching and MO Educators.
The two level 1 rugby 7s courses (coaching & match officiating) will run from Wednesday 15th April to Friday 17th April for current coaches, players, school sports masters, students and any interested person.
The venue for the courses will be at the commonwealth youth program (CYP) center, next to the FOPA village, Panatina SINU campus.
With the huge interest shown by the high schools in their 7s tournament currently, SIRUF encourages all participating school sports masters plus selected students to attend this courses.
The two trainers will further hold a rugby 7s strategic workshop with members of the SIRUF provincial member associations on Monday 20th April. This strategic workshop will be restricted to representatives of the member unions only and selected national coaches.
The programs will then conclude with the SIRUF Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 21st April for all SIRUF council members.
