THE Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation (SIRUF) made sure rugby players understand the functions and importance of the High Performance program at the Solomon Islands National Institute of Sports (SINIS)
A statement from SINIS confirmed rugby athletes were briefed on the importance of individual contribution to the union’s goals and objectives at the elite/international level last week.
SIRUF Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alivereti Mocelutu highlighted the importance of high-performance introduction and optimizing the opportunity.
“Training in a holistic setup opens up a mindset towards understanding high-performance context for short and long term outcome. I understand that momentum carried by rugby athletes is extremely high, which indicates the importance of high-performance introductions in our sport,” Mocelutu stated.
He mentioned that given the High-Performance strategic planning with a holistic approach, rugby union believes in total development through its assessment.
“Professionals set up an advanced indoor facility and work with personnel in specific areas in supervisory positions that can be a valuable asset to our athletes.
“I appreciate what SINIS has been progressing in a holistic approach to proper planning and management that empowered Nutrition, Medical, and Strength & Conditioning in all sports.
“Rugby union in the country is willing to learn new information that contributes to our athletes’ training ability and performance,” he added.
The High Performance programme provides education and training opportunities for these players to fulfill their potential in rugby and life.
