NORMAN Palmer School at Gilbert Camp in east Honiara says Mathias Rurai is no longer the deputy principal of the school.
A spokesman for the school clarified this after Mr Rurai appeared in the Solomon Star newspaper on Monday, receiving a cheque for $100,000 from the East Honiara Constituency Office.
The caption under the picture claimed Mr Rurai is the deputy principal of Norman Palmer.
But a school spokesman said:
“The public need to know Mr Rurai is no longer the principal of Norman Palmer since his suspension last year.
“He was just an ordinary teacher.
“We are surprised that he could lie about his position in the newspaper.
“The fact of the matter is Mr Rurai has been suspended over a number of serious allegations, which our education authority is still investigating.”
