The Telekom S-league competition will go through the original two phase format this season.
This was according to the the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF).
The S-League Board revealed that the new season will return to the competition format originally adopted by SIFF two years ago.
The first phase is the TSL competition and will be followed by the championship series which will see more exciting football action.
The only difference will be that the season will open with a two-round league that will result in the identification of the country’s club representative at the 2015 OFC Champions League.
This is not similar to the initial structure where the winner of the league will take on the winner of the championship in a home and away format to determine the Oceania Club Championship representative.
Nine clubs will compete this season with the re-admission of Marist Football Club to the competition.
Marist was dropped in the 2013 season after failing to pay their registration fees.
Meanwhile the clubs have spent the last month finalising their 25-man squads and several have included friendly matches as they sharpened up for the league proper.
Most clubs are expecting the competition this season to be tough and have already booked formidable players.
Western United leads the pack with a range of new faces while others are clinging to their regulars from the last season.
