Dear Editor – The Office of MMF wishes to inform the general public about the latest sacking of the Minister of MID and, as has been reported by the PM’s office that it was done based on integrity.
The OMMF wishes to categorically refute that claim because it was just a big fat lie and a snowball of lies spewed from the PMO and rolling down the snow mountain to cover up a mighty big deal that is to be struck by foreign shipping liners and the Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, so all in all; in that sense; the PM has lied to this nation.
The sacking of the said Minister was manufactured and was done by foreign elements within the PMO together with ADB.
The people of this country must be duly informed that the sacked Minister has made a clear stance on SIPA in that SIPA must NEVER TO BE PRIVATIZED, this was so because of the fact that SIPA has come out of its debt ridden long history and has made a very good substantial profit during the tenure of the outgoing CEO Collin Yow and up until now.
We know that the arrangements for that sacking were orchestrated by ADB because of commercial interests in our Ports Authority.
We know that ADB loaned an amount of $US2.2m to SIPA and has made an arrangement that SIPA is to repay only the interest part of it, which literally meant that ADB will eventually have control over SIPA.
It must be noted by all citizens of our country that it has been one great feat and achievement by SIPA and at this juncture we wish to say that credit must be given to outgoing CEO Mr Yow that the full loan has been repaid, which would literally means that; ADB now has no control whatsoever over SIPA and ADB is now deemed irrelevant to SIPA’s management.
It is rather unethical and undiplomatic and absurd to say the least that such a show of political pressure has to be orchestrated by those who so often preached about helping poor nations and their poor people.
People of this country must also know that the Prime Minister has lied to the people of Malaita and to this country when he said that he will hand over the responsibility of SIPA back to the Minister after the inquiry into SIPA has been done, as a matter of fact; that responsibility is still with the current Prime Minister as we are speak now.
So that’s another big snowball of lies from the Prime Minister.
Why the PM still hangs on to that responsibility over SIPA speaks volumes of someone trying to mastermind something crook in order to reap personal benefits to himself and his cronies.
We also know that the ADB has carried out a study on SIPA and has recommend that SIPA is to be privatized.
People of this country must wake up to all those nonsense and unite to save our SIPA and citizens of this country must know fully well that the sacking of the Minister was to be carried out in order to privatize SIPA so that the foreign shipping liners will eventually take ownership of SIPA.
It has been a well-designed master plan by those foreign agents to capitalize on the ignorance of our own poor marginalized illiterate populace and their self-centred Political Leaders together with their cronies so that in the end our State Owned Enterprise (SOE) SIPA that is now making millions in profits will be taken over and fully owned by foreigners because of the very fact that they know fully well what Ports benefits is all about or what benefits and profits any ports operations can bring about.
Hence, we also very much like to encourage all SOE’s to follow SIPA’s good examples for the good and benefit of our own poor citizens.
SIPA and Solomon Islands as a whole is sitting on a gold mine in terms of SIPA operations and the OMMF just cannot sit idle and sit by and watch how plans are being cooked up overseas to take over SIPA; no way, we will never allow that to happen.
If Singapore was built on their Ports Authority and is one of the successful economies in the world today, why would we let go of our greatest opportunity to turn our economy around?
The OMMF will do its best to see that SIPA succeeds in that same approach as Singapore no more no less.
Last but not the least, SOLRICE has been selling its 20kg rice bags for $220-00. SOLRICE has been using high Port’s tariff as an excuse but when the outgoing CEO Mr. Collin Yow and the board raised the tariffs, SOLRICE stated that rice price will go higher but that Ports tariff has never been reduced but yet SOLRICE is still reducing its rice prices from $220-00 down to $152-00, so guess who’s fooling and exploiting who in this matter? Seriously speaking, the PM should be the one protecting indigenous Solomon Islanders in this matter.
Solomon Islands should now take PNG’s stance and give SOLRICE a quota and we should also plant our own rice and lastly; we like to commend the Solomon Chinese Business rice Importers for keeping prices of rice down at its present prices to help struggling Solomon Islanders.
