GUADALCANAL Provincial Premier Francis Sade has acknowledged the challenges that all women Guadalcanal continue to face.
Speaking during the Guadalcanal Province Council of Women (GPCW) Christmas get-together party last week, Premier Sade said despite the limited resources that Guadalcanal Provincial Government has, his executive will continue to work with the GPCW to address some of the issues facing women and young girls in the province.
He said he appreciated the GPCW for taking the initiative to address some of the issues affecting women and children around Guadalcanal Province.
Further to that, he said all Guadalcanal women in all spheres of society have been the backbone of the province.
“I wish to appreciate all our women for being the backbone not only in terms of our matrilineal culture, but also in our communities and families,” he said.
Premier Sade also acknowledged GPCW for working closely with GPG since 2009.
He told them, that despite their own challenges as a Council, they have continued to stick together due to their values and integrity in serving the women and young girls of their province.
On that note he also encouraged young women and girls to get involved in politics in order to have their voices heard.
