SALESIAN community in Solomon Islands celebrated a Holy Eucharist with the visiting FMA Mother General Yvonne Reungoat at Don Bosco Technical Institution Henderson, Monday.
The celebration is part of welcoming the Salesian and John Bosco community come together shear the Eucharist.
It was attended by Don Bosco Students, Priests, Salesian Sisters and three Catholic bishops from the Catholic Diocese in Solomon Islands.
Mother Yvonne Reungoat in her short remark acknowledged the Salesian community in Solomon Islands for their hard works in providing teaching and care service to people of Solomon Islands.
She said Salesian community in Solomon Islands are doing very important work that reflects the development Salesian society and it’s an achievement.
In the same not she acknowledged Solomon islanders for the recognition and working together in strengthening Christianity in the communities.
“I wise to acknowledge Arch Bishop Adrian Smith of Honiara, Bishop Chris Cardon of Auki, Bishop John Doaninoel and Bishop Luciano Capelli from diocese of Gizo.
“You provide and serve Solomon Islands very much.”
As part of her tour she visited Catholic communication Solomon Islands, Burns Creek, Red Beach and Don Bosco Rural training centre inTetere North Central Guadalcanal.
Mother Yvonne Reungoat is originally from France and now living in Rome, Italy at the general house.
“Currently Salesian sisters are running Mary mazzarello development centre for women and girls and boarding facilities for female students at Henderson.”
