Dear Editor – I thank chief John Toki for raising the above in an article on your recent paper.
What he said is the ideal society that we have been living in since time immemorial and what we wish it would be like for the next, as he puts it, 100 years.
Our ancestors knew what was right and wrong, especially, the morals of marriage even when they were hunting and killing each other.
Even a primary school aged kid knew and feel who they were before they became attracted to each other.
There is a law in science that says, opposite poles attract and like poles repel.
It is the same with human beings. Opposite sex attract and same sex repel.
However, as Dr Ben Carson (an intending candidate running for US Presidency) said, gays became who they are by choice.
He was referring to the fact that people who went to prison as straight (i.e. having and feeling normal as males or females), came out gays or lesbians because they chose to be that way while in prison.
Therefore, it is a lifestyle choice whether we like it or not. I thank Mr Toki for advising us against encouraging such lifestyles.
Now, let me come to some interesting facts about this immoral behaviour.
Mr Toki let me tell you, that we already have such people here in our society. They are out there even if you don’t see them so much in public due largely to our society’s intolerance to such lifestyle and behaviour.
Mr Toki is correct by stating that the campaign for the rights of LGBT (i.e. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) is carried out worldwide and it’s at our doorstep even our region.
When the US Supreme Court ruled last month in favour of the rights for LGBT couples to marry or have the same benefit as any other citizens, it sent a shock-wave across the world and was celebrated across the transatlantic, Asia, South America, Australia and New Zealand, Africa and Europe.
Even in Russia where a law criminalizing this practice is in place, people were celebrating not in large numbers, but as individuals.
Gays and lesbians even took to social media networks and are telling the world, for example, like UK is a good place to be a gay or lesbian right now.
They are looking for countries that favour this immoral practice.
Scotland voted overwhelmingly in support of this unnatural practice recently and so are other countries around the world.
A strategy used by the US right now is to put pro-gay and lesbian diplomats in their overseas missions. And with that, funds to back up any individual or organizations that support this immoral practice.
Any person or organization promoting the rights of LGBT, would certainly receive funds for their so-called activist activities.
Any country or individual who opposes this nasty behaviour is looked upon as the worst demon you could ever think of.
Uganda, a country that passed a law criminalizing LGBT paid the price of having US aid money withdrawn from them and are now having to review that law again.
President Vladimir Putin of Russia is seen as the worst of the demons because he passed a law criminalizing LGBT.
The Western world led by the US even campaigned and attempted to convince other countries to boycott the last summer Olympic games, hosted by Russia.
The worst case scenario is when the churches who are supposed to uphold Christian and moral values are being dictated to by the world as to what morality is.
The world is telling the church what morality is, instead of the church dictating to the world what morality is and should be.
Now we have clergies who are gays leading out in church activities and yet we expect them to teach the flock about morality whilst living this perverse morality.
The LGBT community is pushing for the removal of scriptures that condemn homosexuality from the Bible as against their rights.
They are pushing for laws to make it a crime if you tell them it’s wrong according to the Bible to practice such a perverse lifestyle.
It will be a ‘hate crime’ if you tell them it’s wrong to be a homosexual (LGBT).
Right now in the US, if a restaurant or employer according to their belief does not want to serve or employ LGBT people, they would be sued in court and fined thousands of dollars.
A minister of the church who does not want to conduct a wedding ceremony for LGBT couples is sued and imprisoned for standing against their rights.
So my friend Mr Toki, we are in for a long haul.
You could only wish that Solomon Islands remains this way for the next 100 years, but the reality is that it’s already here.
Just wait and you would see the so called rainbow flag or banner being flown in the Solomon Islands soon.
The reason I’m saying this is that our country depends very much on aid money for its survival.
Therefore, if we do not accept such people in our society, then the money would not be flowing in.
We are living in the final hours of earth’s history my friend.
Why? Because in history when this perverse lifestyle was rife and mankind became like animals,God punished them with a flood. He then sent down rain on Sodom and Gomorrah for this same sin.
Now the world is making this practice legal, therefore, I bet you, it’s not long before the God of the universe would visit this perverse world again.
Till then, I’d say with Mr Toki, let’s try and discourage this lifestyle/practice with our Christian and traditional values.
