Dear Editor – Just the thought of it makes me want to puke.
Like I wrote earlier in your paper, one thing leads to another.
The ‘modus operandi’ used by the advocates of this issue is to promote it publicly through what we call human rights.
Children’s rights, women’s rights, animal’s rights, Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender’s rights (LGBT), and so many other rights.
With that comes money as the driving force to push this agenda forward around the world.
Making it a scarce and tight resource, money is used as the bargaining chip by the bigger nations to bully little nations like us to bow to their pressure.
This issue of human rights, I can say is an affront by human beings in the face of God the Creator and his word, the scriptures.
Man, while given the power of choice, has to live according to his creator’s will.
The creator’s will is found in holy writ and are his unchallenged authority.
Man on the other hand is gradually tampering with this unchallenged authority of his Creator.
Worst still, is the idea that we are living in the post modern era, therefore, there is no absolute truth.
With that, comes rationalism and relativism, meaning everything has to have a rational explanation, thus, throwing away our religious beliefs based on scriptures, and that there is no absolute truth as truth and morality only relates to one’s culture, society, or historical context.
This leads to people living in this post modern era disbelieving bible as the source of morality and ethical behaviour.
Unfortunately, this secular mindset is creeping into the church, leading people to misinterpret even scripture to advance their immoral and antisocial behaviours.
Thus, when scripture speaks out clearly against such issues, people with rational thinking interpret those scriptural passages as maybe applicable only to the people living during that period.
Furthermore, it is relative to those cultures and societies, but are not relevant to our age.
This argument I can say is very shallow, especially when scripture condemns such practices out-rightly.
People sometimes argue that the scriptures are old-fashioned just as religion is.
However, they do not realize that the God of the scriptures is old and has NEVER changed (Mal. 3:6). Thus, his principles are changeless and are universal regardless of time and space.
People with this problem seem to argue and blame God, whilst not realizing what the adversary is doing to the human race in the last six thousand years.
Man, due to sin, has reduced himself to a much lower status after each passing generation.
Our only safeguard is to stick to God’s word, and allow the Holy Spirit to take total control over our lives.
Lacking that, means giving ourselves away to the enemy who sow the seeds of discord and rebellion in our hearts against God and his word on a daily basis.
There is a saying, “if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything”.
Thus, I ask all citizens of this Christian and God fearing nation to stand on God’s word. This is the only safe place to take refuge in crisis moments like this.
Otherwise, we will be tossed to and fro by the waves of all kinds of unbiblical teachings (Eph. 4:14 paraphrased).
One of my favourite authors wrote the following words, “The greatest want of the world is men – men who will not be bought or sold; men who in their inmost souls are true and honest; men who do not fear to call sin by its right name; men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole; men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall”.
Like the Governor General said, same sex marriage is coming, one needs to see this in light of the scriptures.
If it’s not biblical, then we need to stand up and call sin by its right name. We need to stand up for God and be true to our duty as the needle is to the compass’ pole.
There is no middle ground in this argument. There are no ‘ifs’ or ‘buts’, rather, we should base our defense on ‘sola sciptura’, the bible and bible alone.
The fact as the Governor General rightly stated is universal acceptance.
It has nothing to do with morality or what is right and wrong.
Pressure from the people or society would lead leaders to pass laws that are never thought of. Laws that would infringe on people’s consciences and beliefs.
To not adhere to these unethical laws would make people view you as not falling in line, thus, would be seen as indifferent to people’s rights or needs.
One only has to see how this is affecting Christian America right now, where LGBT people are publicly speaking out against Christians for not accepting their marriages.
Like he said, we have these type of people in our societies all along.
However, the difference now is to do with this whole RIGHTS issue, where this is brought to a prominent position than it was.
This leads to open practice of this filthy unbiblical and unnatural behaviour.
When it is legalized, it makes a whole lot of difference, as it make people to think this is acceptable.
Once again, I’d say, search the scriptures to see what it has to say about these crazy things that are turning our world upside down right now.
Finally, when it becomes law and you are affected for not upholding such laws, remember, the Old book states that your cries go before God in Heaven.
God would certainly act when his law or instructions are violated (Ps. 119:126), as he had done in the past during the flood, and at Sodom and Gomorrah.
We have come too far and have broken and trodden on his word more worse than these instances, I believe.
Therefore, expect God to act sometime sooner.
When God says something, he means it!
So do the right thing.
Sincerely yours,
