A 10-KILOMETRE road from Fo’odo to Afufu in North Malaita is in worst state and needs urgent repair.
That was according to north Malaita man Peter Satu.
He said that the road was in its worst state and urgent repair is a must.
“There are pools of water along the road and vehicles have to divert through the coconut plantation to avoid ditching into the drains and pools,” Mr Satu said.
“The two wooden bridges along the road were also rotting away.
“It’s a sad scene indeed when leaders and the government keep on neglecting several of our calls for the road to be repaired.”
Mr Satu added both passengers and vehicle operators were affected by the bad road condition.
He appealed to the MP for the area, Jimmy Lusibaea, to take the initiative and find ways to have the road repaired.
This segment of road is part of the busy north road that runs from provincial capital Auki to Fouia on the northern tip of Malaita.
