OUTSPOKEN chief of Fishing Village, Robert Satu has made his intension known of contesting next month’s Honiara City Council elections.
Mr Satu who is no stranger to both the local and international media limelight, will be contesting the Vura ward.
Speaking to this paper yesterday, Mr Satu said that it has been too long that communities living within the Vura ward have suffered from the lack of micro-development.
“There is no development plans, none at all the past years. There is even no sign or evidence of proposed development taking place within our ward since the tenure of the previous City Councillor for Vura ward.
“Therefore having had enough of this, I see that there is a need for development and a great need for better coordination between communities, councillors and the Member of Parliament for East Honiara to process development for the sake of our people.
“Having a strong, fearsome leader will take us through to that path,” Mr Satu said.
Mr Satu added that it is time that communities, not only in the Vura ward, but the entire East Honiara Constituency reap the fruits of the many proposed developments allocated and assigned to them.
Mr Satu is among other candidates also vying for various other wards within the Honiara City.
