BURNS Creek Adventist primary school fortnight ago ended their term two academic classes by staging an environmental day and concert.
The event was held at the Maranatha Hall, near the school, East Honiara on Thursday 22nd June.
The environmental day was staged in the morning allowing guests, officials, parents, guardians, friends and supporters who came to witness the students in their various grades talked about a number of issues affecting the environment.
Various stalls were erected inside the Maranatha Hall where they highlighted issues such as pollution, water conservation, over fishing, protecting the ocean, changing sun condition, conserving turtle, saving our forest for the future and keeping the environment clean by not throwing rubbish any where.
A number of guests and organisations have also turned up to speak to the students and support the event.
There were also speeches by the students from the various grade highlighting these environmental issues.
The second part of the program kicked off in the afternoon around 5pm and ended just after 8pm.
This segment featured the sales of food, singing contest and awarding of the prizes for the speech contestants.
The evening program was to support the school in its fundraising effort to build new classrooms for the school.
Most of the parents, guardians, supporters and the Board members of the School turned up to be part of the event.
The school administration thanked all those who have supported the event.
The school is now into its mid year break and will resume classes at the end of this month.
