The Honiara Football Association (HFA) School league has been postponed for Thursday April 6.
The HFA school league was scheduled to kick off tomorrow Saturday April 1.
The HFA Secretary General, Leonard Paia said the reason for the postponement is due to the delay in receiving required documents from schools regarding students’ birth certificate and school records.
“Some schools have not handed in these required documents yet and they have asked for some more time to get it all sorted.
“So the HFA gave them until Tuesday April 4 to hand in all these documents.
“The league will kick off on Thursday,” he said.
The HFA School League will feature the U15 age category so organizers must make sure they have players of the said age category before the competition begins.
Prior to the first two matches on Thursday, there will be a uniform parade scheduled for 3pm.
A uniform parade will mark the opening for this year’s HFA School league on Thursday.
The parade will start at 3pm followed by the two opening matches at 4pm.
Matches will be played at the King George Sixth sports fields.
Paia also revealed good news to students of the age category U17, U18 and U19 players.
He said these age groups will have their own league which will start two weeks from the HFA U15 School league.
He highlighted engaging these young players will help raise future players to represent the country in future competitions like the 2023 Pacific Games which will be held in Honiara.
