Chung Wah A is this year’s U10 netball champions of the U-10 Honiara Netball Association (HNA) school league.
They bagged gold during an impressive 8-7 victory against St Nicholas in the grand final play off at the Lawson Tama netball court, Tuesday.
Chung Wah had it all worked out after came from behind to snatch the top award for the second time in a row.
St Nicholas started off very well in first three quarters but could not withstand the defending champions who came from behind and shielded their title in the final quarter.
St Nicholas were looking very smart by leading the battle in most occasion however equipped with well-built goal attacker and goal defender Chung Wah was able to overturn the result in the final quarter of the stunning grand final which attracted a lot of students, teachers, parents and guardians.
The score was 2-2 in the first quarter, 4-3 in favour of the St Nicholas in the second quarter, 5-5 in the third quarter and 8-7 to Chung Wah in the final quarter.
St John claimed the third position after thrashing Bishop Epalle 16-2 in the losers final.
A handful of consolation prizes were also awarded prior to the main part of the presentation yesterday.
Meanwhile HNA president Shalom Akao said since the league kicked they’ve witnessed a lot of improvement.
“We are very happy to witness from the beginning of this league until this final, there are lots of improvement,’’ she said.
HNA president also thanked every teachers, parents, guardians and players for their commitment in making the event a successful one.
