SCHOOL results are expected to be released to the public mid this week.
That’s according to the National Examination and Standard Unit (NESU), which comes under National Education Assessment Division (NEAD) of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development.
“We are currently sorting an inconsistency in recording of students that transferred from one school to sit the national exams at another,” a NESU spokesperson told the Solomon Star on Friday.
“As soon as these are sorted out, the results will be released, which we hope will be done mid next week,” the spokesperson added.
He cited an example where students were enrolled at Honiara High School but transferred to Adaua in Malaita and sat for their exams there.
“We are sorting this out.”
Furthermore, the spokesperson said the reportedly leakage of national examination papers does not affect the selection of students.
“The students we found cheating during the exams, we will apply the regulation on them,” he said.
The results to be released next week are for standard 6, Form 3, Form 5, and Form 6.
The standard six exam is the Solomon Islands Secondary Entrance (SISE), Form 3 – Solomon Islands Year 9 (SIY9), Form 5 – Solomon Islands School Certificate (SISC) and Solomon Islands National Form 6 School Certificate (SINF6SC).
The spokesperson said form 7 results can be accessed from the University of South Pacific (USP) Honiara Campus.
“These Form 7 results are for students who will further their education at tertiary level through acquiring scholarships,” NESU added.
The Solomon Star understands results normally released after the Minister of Education and Human Resources signs them off.
The 2018 academic year is expected to start towards the end of the month.
Over the past days, parents eager to know the results of their children have been calling the Solomon Star to enquire about the results.
