Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) members of the Central, Guadalcanal and Honiara district have successfully concluded their weeklong camp meeting at the Maranatha Conference centre over the weekend.
The first ever camp meeting brought together members of the Church from the three districts for a camp around the Maranatha centre.
The meeting was organised to celebrate 100 years anniversary since the death of Ellen G White. Her writings is being loved by many and people still continue to read her writings and books.
As part of celebrating the anniversary a speaker from the Ellen G White Estate and the Signs Publishing Ltd were invited to lead out in the event and preached to the congregation each evening.
Programs and activities were held both during the day and later in the night.
The highlight of the event was on Saturday where most of the members were able to attend the final part of the program which included the baptism of a number of people.
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare attended programs under his capacity as a Church Elder for a local Church in the Guadalcanal Plains. He also led out in the lesson discussion.
On Sabbath afternoon, there were presentation of reports about some of the outreach programs of the Church in parts of the country and need to spread the message of God.
The event formally concluded on Saturday night with a concert which saw many youths hitting the stage to sing.
Despite a number of challenges and hiccups being faced throughout the weekend the event was dubbed a success.
