The Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) youth convention will begin this weekend at the Maranatha Hall in Honiara.
SDA youths in Solomon Islands and other regional countries are attending the convention that will start this Friday and end next week Friday.
A spokesperson from the Solomon Island Mission (SIM) yesterday admitted that preparation around the site is progressing at the Maranatha ground east of Honiara.
“Some youths have arrived in the capital while other should arrive today and in the coming days”
“The convention will kick off on Friday and end next week Friday with entertainments,” the SIM spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added the SIM youth department is preparing programs for the event since the convention would be the biggest ever to be organised by SIM in the country.
“This convention would be the biggest ever convention and SIM well is preparing for the event”
“So far site preparation is gearing up like erection of stalls and huts. At the moment some youths particularly in Honiara have started clearing their site at SIM compound while other provinces their site are being earmarked for them,” he said.
Four overseas countries are expected to be part of the event.
